You have to look past the fact that it looks like an "out of date backup."
In reality it's not just a single backup, some tables in the database have been restored to just before the crash (PMs, Wiki, News etc.) and some have not yet been restored; they are either still restoring or they have additional issues which are being worked on.
So it might look like iNet are being lazy, but in my opinion they're not. They allow you to access the services they have restored (PMs, Wiki etc.) and have restored all the posts that don't have issues. They will most likely, probably soon, update the other tables (such as posts, topics etc.) with the content from just before the crash.
While you're waiting, why not add new content to the Wiki; which is at the state just before the crash (though the changes table doesn't seem to have been completely populated.)0

I don't own the domain "cynical.me" for no reason - until I thought about the ad revnue / advertisers & the position iNet was in it seemed strange to put up a old database to only have any new posts / threads wiped (well in theory at least). Beyond that I didn't notice that only some of the tables were corrupted until someone pointed out the PM's were recent, while the threads were rolled back.

Umm, WHT should NOT be online now. Hopefully it's turned down shortly.

Lmao, advise? No. If what he's said is true, then WHT deserve to lose money, they've potentially given away passwords which could well be root passwords for servers. Anyway, I don't for one moment believe these downloads really contain the info, that's why I won't open it.
