Anyone else experiencing problems with EasyCGI??
I have been an EasyCGI customer for almost a year now with VPS @ $119.95 a month. It has been a rough road ever since. Tech support can be very hard to get ahold of and once you do, not very eager to help either. What frustrates the most is that they don't care much if your site down even for their own fault. The last incident is going now, which made me very furious to the point that I found this forum to share this with all of you. They are swaping systems (don't know why) but all VPS accounts are down for over 36 hours and whenever I get to tech support all they are saying is that it will take another 12 hours ... . Who can live with that?? There is no benefit to the customer nor any compensation has been communicated. Have I known this, I would have been out of their service already for sure. Actually, I should have known that this kind of incident can easily happen given my prior experience with them.
If you had any interaction with EasyCGI, please share you experience.

Did EasyCGI hit the wall?
Hi
We have major issues with 'easy' CGI at the moment. On a 2 (!) day notice they shift the VPS servers to a new datacentre without telling us that the IP address will change as well.
Support team is totally different and all is a bit strange timing wise and how they handle it.
We have several web sites down and online businesses start to crumble. REALLY bad.
Is it possible that they hit the wall and did a firesale of their customer base?
Who else is suffering? Class action anyone?

Bonny,
For me the frustrating thing is that they don't give you access to your information. I have all my data on their servers including backups. Now, it would be like starting a fresh website because all the registered users and their information and files is on EasyCGI's servers.
Frankly, I don't know what they are thinking. I am definitely gone ... its only a question whether I will get access when or if they are up to copy my files.
I bet lots of people are frustrated. When my site is down for 15-20 minutes I am very nervous but now it is down for 52 hours!!

Don't they have Phone or live chat support? I guess posting here will not help anyways. Did you try calling them?

support clueless
Hi
Apart from the fact that we in Australia have a 14 hour time difference the 'support' team has absolutely no clue what's going on.
Here is a sample of their communication:
"Bonny:
our VPS (7610) is still down. If you have changed the IP address, what is the new IP please?
Samson Brown:
I need the exact IP address for the servers. "
It's like talking to a wall. I've been on the phone, email and live chat for 2 days now and only lame, careless excuses.
All I need is access to my data and a better host.

Sorry to hear your experience. I think, you should learn from this and move immediately to avoid any further issues.
Good luck with your new provider!

Class action lawsuits over something such as this is not feasible, as to prove what money you could have made would have to be significant and in the same standing as the others in the class action.
Just cut and run, and learn from your experiences. You've also given everyone else a heads up in this instance, so people don't follow your mistakes.

I was with Webstrike Solutions for a little over 2 years now, and always found them very helpful and friendly, and their service/performance was good.
They recently sold out to EasyCGI, and I have to say, I am beyond the point of frustrated. First, they totally transferred my accounts, login details and IP addresses without even telling me, ALL of the sites I host (including those for my clients) went down and I was unable to do a thing about it, as I couldn't log in to talk to them. I had to send an email and provide all the identifying information I could to this company to get login details 12 hours later! THEN, I had to login and try to go through the online live chat with someone who wouldn't help me, just kept pasting canned statements into the chat about looking on the knowledgebase for my answers.
Two entire days later, I had it all back up and working... I thought. I lost a client in that time, as they lost $5,000 in revenue in the downtime and it was just not good enough for them. I gladly refunded them and apologised, but nobody is going to cover me for that hosting money.
Today, I tried to set up a new MySQL database for a brand new client only to be told no, I cannot access MySQL databases remotely. What a crock of horseshit! They even told me I was not to use Adobe Dreamweaver. I told them it was ludicrous, but they don't care. When I threatened to walk away with my business, they said "Bye."
These guys are total scammers. If I had the funds, I would sue their asses off. Don't use them.
