Plesk Wont Update

Hey I'm running Plesk 8.6.0 and the Plesk Updater just doesn't seem to want to work. I'll tell it to update the base package and it will just sit there over night with the spinning image and never actually do anything. All it ever does is over load the server eventually, any ideas?

It's Cent OS 5.1

#1 - Do you receive any error messages? I had an "Autoinstaller busy" happen to me when I used Plesk (use Cpanel now) and the fix was:

(Copy/Paste from KB)
Increase timeout values to greater ones (for example 30 minutes) in the Plesk panel server and Plesk panel PHP configuration files:

/usr/local/psa/admin/conf/httpsd.conf:
Timeout 1800

/usr/local/psa/admin/conf/php.ini:
max_execution_time = 1800

We would need to see some logs to assist further.

You should also look at opening a ticket with your Plesk license provider, and they can esclate to Plesk if required.

Our license is directly from Plesk and apparently they offer absolutely no technical support for their product on monthly licenses which I find disappointing. I get no errors unless there's a text log somewhere for the updater. But it doesn't display any errors in the web browser.

Sorry to hear that Plesk does not offer support to monthly licenses. You would figure, if you grow, they grow. That would be my approach.

Have you tried rebooting?

Yup it's been an on going problem it always seemed slow as hell even before the 8.6.0 however now with 8.6.0 it just doesn't work at all.

Make sure your firewall is not blocking port 5224. Plesk updates its license via port 5224.
