Question

Can Kayako+WHMCS work side-by-side?

I don't like WHMCS's built in support system... but want to get Kayako for the support side, can they work side-by-side, seamlessly? Is it hard to make them work together?

Thanks,
Jacob

I believe there is an integration for whmcs and kayako which can be setup. I'd check the whmcs/kayako forums.

Thanks,

It's not hard to get them to work together, you upload a few files from Kayako into your WHMCS module directory and set 1 setting in WHMCS and the loginshare in Kayako to work with WHMCS and you're good to go.

There is a small text file in the Kayako distribution explaining it in detail.

As for working seamlessly, you have to respond to tickets through Kayako. You have to modify the template to match WHMCS or your overall template.

The intergration is not 100% BUT it's fairly good and i have a few mods at the WHMCS site to improve the integration so that it includes the troubleshooter and search abilities.

All in all i prefer it to the WHMCS built in support but that is becoming better and Kayako takes a forever and a day to update so it may overtake it someday!

If you have specific questions feel free to PM me.

Regards,
J

inbuilt systems aren't enough for large companies, who need more than just replying to tickets.

Yes, they can work side by side seamlessly. If you don't want to use the Kayako "nested" in your whmcs, replace the links in your whmcs for tickets/announcements/downloads etc with links to the actual Kayako page. Still use the integration plugin to share users though.

We use Kayako SupportSuite and WHMCS together using Explovision's LoginShare mod. The great thing about this is if it cant verify the user details in one DB (eg WHMCS) it will fallback and check the other DB (eg Kayako). It's pretty cheap too only €25.00 take a look at http://www.explovision.net/
