* PLease help

Hi everybody

I've just bought a server to iweb8 without cpanel. It means I have to configure everything form the begining, that's to say, create acces via SSH with the OS CentOS, etc...well the problem is I don't know how to start, I am really lost .
Could someone give me a "step by step" from the very begining guideline please?

thank you very much
tramber

tramber honestly... you need to get with a provider that has managed servers. Your going to be totally lost.

The easiest bet for you is to check out: http://www.webmin.com/

Then learn how to secure your server... not necessarily in that order.

Hi Tramber,

If you're not familiar with linux, I would suggest you to go for any control panel so that you can easily manage the accounts from the web interface. If you're looking for free control panels, I would suggest to you go for webmin or lxadmin(free upto 40 domains).

I'm confused as to why you didn't buy a Control Panel if you knew naught on what to do?

if you can log into the server, and it's centos based, i'd say try installing lxadmin from scratch. it's about the best free control panel i've used.

I would look at DirectAdmin.com as it is the cheapest panel on the market that will best help you manage your server. I don't think you'll be able to get anywhere fast with a server with no control panel and no Linux experience.
