Hi,

I am hosting my website with the shittiest of hosting companies.

Anyhow, I think they're bs-ing me about upload/download speeds.

Is there a way I can test the speed?

Well there are several methods to test speed-first you can put a link to test file and ask people how fast they downloaded it.Second will be to download/upload over ssh from another server to see how fast it goes.

Could the same thing be achieved using FTP?

Damn host doesn't allow ssh (*** why did I pick these people ***)
