IRC allowed - Affordable?
I'm looking for an affordable (a.k.a. fairly cheap) stable dedi that allows IRC. It will mainly be used to host a few websites, but it needs to be IRC allowed as well (the irc portion will be very small). Does anyone know any good hosts? Most of the cheaper hosts I've looked into don't allow IRC at all .
- IRC allowed
- US preferably; not necessary
- Managed or un-managed, doesn't matter
- Decent price
- Need somewhere around 20-35 IPs
Thanks!

I believe that Staminus still allows IRC on their network. I used them shortly after they started doing business and found the service and network to be very solid. I can only imagine that they've gotten better over the years, too.

Limestone told me that the company allows proxies and IRC. The company seems to be cheap.

@Michael - Staminus seemed really good -- mostly sold out though :-(
@RalphC - Limestone's IRC policy seems very strict -- I'll look into them though
Thanks! More suggestions welcome

Use Staminus, they are going to be your least expensive best route. Gige wants too many fees and too much to do IRC, awknet doesn't compare to Staminus, sharktech's still around? Looks to me like they host with FDC now.
We used Staminus for months and had no problems that weren't resolved right away, support is fast, deployments were fast, would highly suggest you take a look at them. Ip's won't be a problem, they have a nice control panel to manage your rnds and everything, you'll like em!

When we hosted a leaf at steadfast a few years ago (and even now when our VPS customers use IRC on their servers), steadfast is normally "ok" with IRC so long as it's quiet.
Quiet being it isn't being ddos'd on a weekly basis, there isn't anything illegal going on or things like that.
With that being said, in both times with steadfast we informed steadfast that we would be using it for such, so it's very much possible they allow it on a "case by case" basis.
Thanks,
~Francisco

Sounds convincing I guess I'll need to wait a while for them to restock
