cheap yet exellent VPS plan

I had been looking for an affordable VPS plan. Luckly I found this one at digitallinx.com. It costs me $5 a month, I installed mysql, apache, tomcat and they have been running smoothly with this VPS instance. To get a similar plan, it could cost at least $30 a month from other big providers like 1and1 and godaddy. Also their support is timely and very helpful.

Just remember to always keep a backup. There seem to be 2 or 3 of these $5 a month providers come and go every week at WHT.

Good to see a happy customer.

What domain is hosted with them? You can either report it or contact the help desk.

tough to say, the domain has been around since '01, but can't be sure if they've owned it the whole time..

Thank you for not jumping to any conclusions SameerHosting and sc2sick.
Our company is NOT based in Pakistan, the domain name is registered to an individual who happens to be from Pakistan and he's one of the 5 system administrators who run digitallinx and get fair share of the profits.

Also thank you very much complimenting on our ghetto site, yes we don't have a web designer on our team, those things are too expensive we'd rather buy more hardware to make our customers happy than to pay $1k for a shiny web 2.0 "professional" website.
Bottom line is we are here to stay, our current prices are purely promotional as any sane person would notice that you can't profit with that kind of prices, so we'll be updating our packages soon.

Thank you Jason for your kind words.

Oh and for the record digitallinx has been in the hosting business since 2002, we haven't changed the website since 2003 (think that website is still in google's cache) because we didn't needed it, since we were and we still are offering our services and expertise to West london school of management and technology and believe me that's a handful for 5 individuals.

Are there any other questions or perhaps accusations?

First of all,
Hi and thanks for the reply, I now know more about digitallinx and its services. As you said you don't need a good template , that varies from person to person. Some people like to have a clean, sleek looking design where you are able to see things much more clearly and it gives an extra impression on your clients , on how the services reflect on the outside and it does in inside.

But its again up to the Hoster/CEO what is his/her view about having a good design or not.

Well as you have misspelled our Hosting Site's name (SameeriHosting),purposefully or not, It shows how much respect you have towards others.

Once again, good luck with your host and do update us your plans, etc.

Yours,
Sameer

I gracefully apologize for the spell mistake, I assure you it wasn't intentional, I would edit my post to fix it but unfortunately the edit option isn't available. I reported my post to the WHT to fix my mistake.

By all means we agree that our site doesn't look very good, but like I said we are not web designers and we did the best we could. And we invested a lot more money in our servers than the design of our site we will probably rebuild the site as soon as we can find a web designer to join our team.

Increase your pricing to $7 per VPS and you will make that that extra $1k in no time.

Honestly, $1k is pocket change to a stable and reliable VPS provider. A decent DDOS attack can cost a company $30,000 in just one month.

Although I appreciate this review on how great your service is for $5. I'm a little less convinced on your business after you stating that $1k is a lot of money for you guys. That makes me think that you really do not have a big war-roon of cash to even afford hardware repair if you needed to.

Big companies like UltraDNS, HostMySite, etc.. that we use all of time, although you pay more... You know will never run out of cash if they have to afford $1k for something like a professional website.

So I would personally recommend that next time you say "We are working on a website" instead of saying that you are so small and have no money to afford a $1k website. Unless you are just going for small hobby users anyway... but that is your call.

Well I actually took your advice Bill without even seening it I increased the basic VPS package to $6.99 since I noticed that 2checkout's fees are insane for orders less than $5 http://www.2checkout.com/community/b...s-are-under-5/
I guess I'd have to charge my current customers with that package $5.10 to get away with that fee.
Believe me Bill we've spent way more than $1k on hardware, and silly $200 on our site along with SSL certificate. But yeah as soon as we see "profits" (i.e. sales it will take a while to see actual profits) we'll probably pay for a better site.
Once again our current prices are purely promotional to get the word out and they will be changed i.e. increased
Thanks for the advice Bill.

Thank you for editing the post, and good luck with your sales.

Once again I dont want to be a foe, I just wanted to point out few things that might help you grow as a hosting community.

I appreciate your time to reply to my post, hope we will be good friends.

Yours,
Sameer

Ah... promotional! Well then, I hope it goes well for you.
Depending on how much support you give even your new pricing might be hard to keep up, but it's always good to start by getting a lot of users.
I will in fact recommend you to anyone that is looking for a low cost alternative. And honestly I hope you guys grow someday so that there are more great alternatives in this industry.

I have never used your services, but at least it seems like you care, you work hard, and you have a personal interest in making this succeed. This is more than you can say for 99% of the hosting companies out there.
