Bloody Dreamweaver!

Why does Dreamweaver seem hell bent against me having table witdths of 1. In fact it doesn't seem too interested in going smaller than 10, though sometimes it'll go as far as 4??? Am I doing something wrong here or am I merely dealing with one of Satan's minions in software form?

hmm.. the only way i know is by putting a pic size 1x1pixel in and then it allows you to make table width 1...

i've never had problems with table widths (dreamweaver 4 or mx)

I tried it using both WYSIWYG and Code view in Dreamweaver 4.

and it won't let you type a width of 1 for table?
Code:
<table width="1" height=300 bgcolor="#000000"><Tr><td><Br></td></tr></table>
that should give you a vertical black line

That's the thing, you type '1' yet it still sticks to 10??????? I am able to get it to work on either vertical or horizontal lines, but one is always at 10 pixls. I'm confused.

Yeah, what phatronic said. Dreamweaver automatically puts a non-breaking space in empty table cells, and the size of the nbsp is based on the text size. So either make your text size in that cell like 1px or just use a spacer .gif.

FYI this is to support browsers like *hurls* NS4 which won't render tables right unless there's content in all the cells.
