Moved to new VPS - 403 forbidden error

I recently moved my website from a shared hosting plan at Siteground to a VPS at WiredTree. All went well but I have this problem : When I try to access my website I can't. I get :

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

This happens only for my home computer. If I try to access the website from anywhere else (even via my mobile phone) it works like a charm.

I am thinking this might be a DNS cache problem. Anyone can help me better understand the problem and solve it?

Thanks

Did you check directory- and file-rights?

All permissions are ok. Don't think that's the issue, since the website is working for the world, but I get this error only from my home computer. The website is crazyleafdesign.com

Ok, then you might flush your dns-cache on your home computer. Which OS are your running and which nameserver are you using?

I am using Windows XP, and I use the nameservers @ Wiredtree (ns1.wiredtree.com, ns2.wiredtree.com)

Hi,

Its deffinately an error from your end (computer). You will need to flush your dns and reboot.

Flushed the DNS, it worked for a while. Now it's not working anymore.

Make sure it's not something in your "C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" file that is pointing to your old provider.

Also try to change the DNS servers with the ones in your office - or any other DNS servers- and see if you get the same error. If you don't then it's something with your DNS servers. Might want to do a trace (example: tracert crazyleafdesign.com) to be sure you are reaching the correct server.

Sounds to me like a classic DNS propagation issue. Give it atleast 24-48 hours, and you should be good -- or edit your hosts file (as mentioned above).

I managed to make it work by modifying the hosts file and entering the IP address along with my website address.

Thanks JordanSS and thank you all for your great advice.

Welcome.
Looks like it was a DNS propagation error. This resolves itself in time as the DNS records are flushed and new records are added.

In a few days you may want to test if the DNS server you are using has updated the new ip / nameserver (you can do that by deleting the record from your hosts file).
