I have some pretty simple needs

Can someone recommend a good host or 3. I have the following requirements:

cPANEL
MySQL Databases: 5
Disk Space Usage: 1-5GB
MySQL Disk Space: 300 Megabytes
Bandwidth: 20-25 GB

Vbulletin site with 2000 active users, 30-50 concurrently.
Website is adult themed (strip club and escort reviews).

Willing to pay up to $25/month. Not satisfied with the speed of my current host.

Dear Heaven,

Is CPanel an important requirement for the Control Panel ?

Does content dictate price?

To poster #2, your added siggy is not allowed, this is considered spam. You must have x amount of posts to create a signaturd within you're member profile.

To the poster, any smaller hosts and not an overseller would be able to accomodate your requirements.

i'm sure more posts will come your way.

I agree with #6, if you want the space, go for a small host instead of a big one to avoid overselling

Biased opinions... overselling has nothing to do with the OP's requests

eric418, have you used all of the hosts you've recommended?

Overselling doesn't have as much of an impact upon your request as many would have you think (especially since you require so little). Forums in my experience don't use too much disk space/transfer unless you have a lot of picture/video attachments.

I have used HostGator in the past with so/so results - they will likely be OK until your forum gets quite a bit larger.

300mb MySQL disk space is considered high?

I've seen databases in the ranges of 1~5gb personally so 300mb doesn't sound so bad to me.

Yes, I manage/maintain quite a number of websites for clients. I'm using services of 10s of hosts everyday.

I can provide a big list of bad hosts too, based on the problems i had with them.

- some hosts have their domain management broken, to prevent customer leaving

- some hosts mysql connection will never work initially for Windows platform, you must file a complaint to get it working

- etc etc

funny characteristic for each host..
