    Hosting business for sale

Not sure if this is the right forum so 'mods' please move if needed.

We are preparing our hosting business for sale and if anyone is interested please send a pm so we can foward full propasal when complete (approx 3 weeks)

    Brief Information:

Last 52 weeks sales over $86,000
    2 1/2 years in business
ranked one in google/yahoo under specific keyword search
mix of yearly and monthly clients (monthly = just under $3000 per month) resellers and shared

2 dedicated server clients just over 1000 shared/resellers (good flow of new clients and renewals)

6 Plesk licence keys (owned not leased)

5 servers owned outright and colo'd at an Inflow NOC

5 servers rented ( 2 of these have very few clients on and could be consolidated onto the other servers)

Total overheads per month for colo, bandwidth and rental of servers equals $1500 approx

Worldpay account which always has 4 weeks sales in (at any one time) = approx $7000

Obviously we don't want to publish the name as yet but we will provide a detailed breakdown of the business and those seriously interested will have access to vital information to help prove sales etc.

At present the business is owned and run by one person, with another person providing assitance on an ad-hoc basis (no contractual obligations).

Renewals are good and we still have our very first client

We are not interested in just selling the customer base we are looking for someone to take over the whole business.

In short the assets of the firm are:

    - plesk licences (3xunlimited 2x300 domain 1x 30 domain)
    - 5 web servers (3x 2U 933Mhz PIII 512MB 2 x 20GB drives and 2 1U PIII 1.2 Ghz 512MB Ram 2 x 40GB drives)
    - $7000 at worldpay
    - The customer base
    - The brand/domain name ranking etc

I would also be willing to provide consultancy after the sale for a period of at least 3 months.

Let me know what you think>

    Thanks

    Question

You don't have to answer this, given that I am not in a position to purchase this from you, but I would think potential buyers would find this relevant:

How many customers do you have, what ratio are on monthly, quarterly, annual plans. How many are on low plans, mid, expensive plans. What is your price range for plans. Where is the setup servered at?

    Just curious.

I think it is relevent and we are putting all of this together in a detailed proposal, the reason I haven't gone into more detail is we are working on all of the above so we can show in both income terms and customer number terms.

When I first sat down to do all of this I soon realised how much information i needed to put together which is why I decided to put a detailed proposal together - I promise it will be in that

We are interested. Would like to know how much you are selling for, in your proposal. I absolutely hate making offers blindly.

    Hi AffordableHost

I will be putting a guide price in the business profile from where negotiations can start - I don't want to post that here in isolation for a number of reasons but it will be in the profile

time, just out of curiousity... what keeps someone from buying all of this from you, closing the business and moving all clients over to their current business?

Nothing. I'm sure he doesn't care what the buyer does after the transaction. He just wants to sell everything together - to be done with it.

Tina is quite right, selling the whole business is just easier and better for me and I was also trying to save my customers some of the upheavel of the change, but after the sale the buyer can do whatever they wish.

And I will send you the profile Tina

Also a few people have pm'd me asking why I am selling, well, I'm 40 years old so the 18 hour days are taking the strain plus my wife thinks I don't exist anymore so I think its time to move on (from the business not the wife). It hasn't been an easy decision as it is a nice income.
