I've been trying to contact their site for a couple of days with the same problem. But from my understanding they "resold" other companies dedicated servers but without the setup fee. Your server should be functioning.

By the looks of it. There's no problems with his client servers that I know of.

It still seems down from where I am right now. But I am able to ping it. Probably just the httpd daemon that is down.

Strange.. I still cannot get to the site. Hope there is no problem with the business itself. Could just be a DNS issue.

Was there any explanation why the site went down for so long ? Doesn't seems good for business.

If you ever get stuck requiring info from a site thats inaccessible
you can go to google.com and view their cache copy of the site.

    Anyone found out why?

With such a long downtime, they should at least have the professionalism to post a News Flash or Announcement on their site to explain it.

It sure is better than just sweeping it under the rug and hope that in a few months time, things would blow over and everyone forget this ever happened.

Well, it seems that if they do not bother to maintain uptime for their own business website, how would it reflect on their support for their clients ? If a client's server goes down and it takes time over a week to send a response ticket to get it up, it sure is really bad.

What's wrong with their support for clients?

If you take a read through the current Saburovo threads, you'll note that no existing services are down. I know that this doesn't look good from the outside, but support is being monitored and the advice has been that something has cropped up to put Denis out of range. Obviously something serious...and I would have expected that until existing services are reportedly affected that folks (those affected or otherwise) could at least extend Saburovo the courtesy of *not* calling their professionalism to task unnecessarily. Just a thought...

Well, if you look at the other thread at
    http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...threadid=71807

From an outsider point of view, I understand that at least one new customer signed up, got nothing, no response for email over 6 days. Their main website went down and has not been revived for quite a while.

I understand that their clients are all dedicated hosting server clients and that would mean that each machine is pretty much independent from each other. The machines that the clients are on are probably pretty stable machine. I have a dedicated server on RS and I have yet requested for their assistance in terms of reboot or any hardware issues.

But what if there were problems and it is only natural to pop into their main server first to see about ways of contacting them either via email, phone or fax. If that is down for so long, what does that signal anyway ?

I mean I have seen so many horror stories of web hosters shutting down or being shut down. With no news and no indication what does that signals ?

I mean if the clients sites are being monitored, I would supposed that their own site would be monitored too. If the problem cannot be fixed on the spot and time needed to resolve the problem, at least a simple posting in WHT to detail the situation and to difuse tension, it would be better that the total silence.

I mean those who have dedicated servers or even web sites may depend their likelihood on the uptime of their servers and if things are happening at the resellers or web host end, people wants to know. I mean if it is a minor hardware glitch which requires specialized parts and would only take delivery of the components in a couple of days, people want to know. If the company is facing difficulties, people want to know. Knowledge is important here. Keeping people in the dark is not good practise.

I run a business and when my site goes down for several hours, I get numerous emails about our status. Of course, we do post a short announcement when that happens whatever the circumstances may be.

Well, I apologize if it is only me that feels this way and the others do not really care too much into it.

No, I'm sure it's not. I'm trusting that there are extentuating circumstances that don't warrant calling Denis' professionalism out. But, I'll leave this alone now. I hope we all hear back from him soon.

    From Russia, with love...

Orinally posted by Editor I think they're right up against a wall on this one...and probably inundated to say the least. That doesn't excuse the matter, and it'd probably be best if they tapped into the site and pulled down the order links now though.
After reading about this company in a few spots in this forum, I decided to see if "anybody was at home" at saburovo, so I sent in a phony pre-sales questions. It didn't take long to get an answer. I've reversed the order of the communication to give an easier interpretation of the time line:

Subject: RACKSHACK 1000 DEDICATED SERVERS - pre-sales questions

    Hello,
Your deals look great, but I have one general question. I've been reselling for a couple of years, and have about 60 clients. I would like to move up to dedicated, but need to know if WebHost Manager will be enough for me to manage the server, and what kind of help is available if I need it?

    Toodles,
    Diana777

    Hello!

Our servers is un-managed. We provide support for 24/7 reboots, hardware problems and small software maintenance.
You need a system administrator or you can install monitoring programs or services (like easymonitor.com).
    ================
So "somebody's" home... looks like Russia is "home" for the RackShack reseller.
