Multiple Domains
Basically I run several sites and am wanting to setup several more. Currently I have two shared plans, but I don't like how the add-on domains are affected by the main domain (e.g. addon.main.com on 4## and 5## pages).
Is going reseller the easiest way for me to have these domains not affected by each other (a separate cpanel each)?
Finally, I don't use a lot of resources so are there actually reseller plans out there with lower prices (and lower resources too).
Thanks.

What you can do to avoid how the "main" domain affect to the other sites is to not create the addon domains inside of the public_html, in that way, the .htaccess file in public_html wont affect at all to the folders of the other addon domains.
To give you an example, actually, you probably have it set like this
Code:
|
|-->public_html -->addondomain1_folder
|-->addondomain2_folder
You can set it like this
|
|-->public_html
|
|-->addondomain1_folder
|
|-->addondomain2_folder
Understand what I mean?
However, if you need separated cpanel for each domain, then, yes, a reseller account is what you need.

Yes and each domain receives their own cPanel login, nice easy and separate.
Reseller > addon domains

To save the troubles of having to seperate everything from the one account, apply the rules jedito mentioned. You should not have many issues. Taking in that you use minimal resources :-)

You don't need to have a reseller account to have real multiple domain hosting. Look for a real multiple domain hosting plan that gives each of your domains their own cpanel. Don't even look at addon domains, as that's a cheap and nasty solution to multiple domain hosting, seems you need a cpanel for each of your domains.

On cpanel only accounts with reseller privileges can set different cpanel for each account, so, basically, you need a reseller account, some companies marketing their plan with another names though

Yeah, gotta agree with the Aussie here... I generally host about 20 domains per account and I have experienced many more problems when they are set up as cPanel addon domains.
Now I stick with true multiple domain hosting. (Usually WHM/cPanel or H-Sphere).

On Hsphere you still have 1 login name to access to each domain unless you use a reseller account.

Can you give examples of who does those? (Unless you would be promoting yourself!)
I've had "reseller" accounts but just hosted my own domains and hosted community projects for free. I.e. not actually resold anything.

Are you a customer of that company?

AxisHost.
Every account has WHM/cPanel.
And, they are an excellent host.
