I think that whether or not it's plesk and whether or not FFMPEG is supported are two totally different and unrelated issues.

If somebody wants FFMPEG hosting they will look for a host that has a control panel they are comfortable with.

If somebody wants to use Plesk they will look for Plesk with or without ffmpeg.

In the event that they want both, then maybe you'd get a signup

True that i ttoaly agree with you on that one a little better wording might be better next time but yes FFMpeg is will run properly with plesk. We tested quite a few scripts on it. There are a few quirks however though.

PHPmotion uses CGI-BIN so the file that come with the phpmotion download need to go into the plesk CGI-BIN folder for that domain or guess what it wont work, and you can that the boys over at Parallels for that one

Just as an example.

Well in my experience that is how it works, the files go into the CGI-BIN. I'm not sure that it has anything to do with Parallels.

I don't think PHPMotion was designed with the idea of being run somewhere other than the root directory.

There was a short window of about a few month with plesk back with 7.5 where cgi-bib could run in a folder called cgi-bin inside the httpdocs folder but that was changed after about 2 months when they pushed out an update lol. Now all cgi-bin has to be in the cgi-bin folder above the httpdocs folder.

This is also true but if the server is setup right and the users are give all the information they need in a timeley fashion then it will be like any other script in referance to installing one.

Having a nice integration of FFmpeg with Plesk would be nice to the final user...

Integration of ffmpeg with plesk? How exactly do you mean?

Last time I checked unless I'm just ignorant FFMPEG is a command-line utility to convert videos from one format to another...

It is a CLI utility but there is the availibility to intergrate it into php and so ffmpeg scripts can do it for the user insead of the host or the user have to do it for hundres of videos.

Installing FFmpeg on a Plesk Based system is not easy at all especially the way swsoft does things ohh boy. but yes al in all it can be intergrated into php for both plesk and cpanel.

Installing FFMPEG has nothing to do with the control panel and everything to do with the operating system as a whole.

Unless there's some other aspect of FFMPEG I'm not aware of. I've installed FFMPEG on more than a few servers.
