you'll need to find a host with ffmpeg support for it, there are many, search on the shared offer section of this forum

Are you looking for a managed solution? What is your budget for this project?

Hi
I've tried a number of hosts offering ffmpeg support recently and the ones I've been able to install phpmotion with no problems are:

Cirtexhosting
Infrenion
HostingMarketers

I have tried a number of other hosts who claim to offer ffmpeg hosting, but present problems with installation. There seems to be a problem with phpshield and php versions above 5.2.4 .

Having said that HostingMarketers offer php 5.2.6, yet it still presents no problems.

The hosts I have tried and failed to install phpmotion (even after contacting support) are:

Downtownhost
Scalahosting
Wixed.co.uk

To me it seems to be that if a hosts website offers ffmpeg and lists the social media scripts they support, then you will be OK.

If a host just says they offer ffmpeg, with no backup about what scripts they can host, then you are in trouble.

Well, I'm not sure in which trouble you ran, but we fulfill the script requirements

To install PHPmotion you need FFMPEG supported php and a good bandwidth.

If your site is going to get a huge video streaming then its better to go for dedicated servers.

You don't have to start out on a dedicated server, but you won't be able to start on a "regular" shared hosting account you will need to find one that is tailored to video hosting.

You will want to be sure that you go with a non overselling ffmpeg enables webhost. As you know, converting ay video format into an flv is extremely resource intensive, and if the server is oversold.... Well, you know the rest.

Cheers.
