Where are nameservers listed?

Hi,
Which file can I find my nameservers listed in?

Godaddy was disallowing me to edit nameservers, so cPanel prevented me from setting up ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com, this has meant now I have a major problem: A client paid me to develop his site and he has now gone on holiday, he wanted it finished today but I can't put it online because he set the nameservers to ns1.domain.com ns2.domain.com whereas I have had to set up the nameservers as one.domain.com and two.domain.com due to godaddy disallowing me to create ns1 and ns2.

Now my question is: Is it possible to edit a config file that can set up NS1 and NS2 to work along side ONE and TWO? I'm using cPanel and I have root access.

Thanks,
Sam.

The nameservers for my server aren't listed in this file, this file contains the IP's for the DNS server doesn't it?

I'm looking for the file that contains:

one.domain.com xx.xxx.xxx.xx
two.domain.com xx.xxx.xxx.xx

So I can add
ns1.domain.com xx.xxx.xxx.xx
ns2.domain.com xx.xxx.xxx.xx

The nameservers for your server are listed in /etc/nameserverips. If this file doesn't exist, click the nameservers option in WHM.

Brilliant, now I'm editing this file, currently it has:

11.111.111.01=one.domain.com
11.111.111.02=two.domain.com

Now I want to update it to say

11.111.111.01=one.domain.com
11.111.111.02=two.domain.com
11.111.111.01=ns1.domain.com
11.111.111.02=ns2.domain.com

(They're example IP's).

Would this work? So 2 something.domain.com's pointing to the same IP. So either one.domain.com or ns1.domain.com would work?

You can create as many nameservers as you like on your server but they won't work unless you register them at your registrar (GoDaddy). What do you mean by "disallowing"? Did you go through the correct procedure to register ns1 and ns2?

i had ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com set up with my old server, i changed the ips to my new servers and then in whm tried to create them, however it said they were already connected to the ip, because i did it in godaddy first. so i created one. and two. instead because godaddy wouldn't let me delete the current ns1 and ns2 i had set up.

you answered my question anyway, ty very much.

cheers <3

Okay, there is a problem now.

I have one.domain.com pointing to xx.xxx.xxx.01
I have two.domain.com pointing to xx.xxx.xxx.02

I have these set up at godaddy, with domain.com
In WHM I have added them, so it recognises that one.domain.com points to xx.xxx.xxx.01 and two.domain.com points to xx.xxx.xxx.02

Now, I can add domains under "Create an account" fine, and if I add one and then visit the domain, it works perfectly. However, If I go into an account in cPanel and click "addon domain" and try and add it, I get the following erorr:

"Error from park wrapper: Sorry, cannot determine nameserver IPs. Please make sure that the domain is registered with a valid domain registrar."

What's the problem? Have I set up something wrong? ;|
