I want to know (from providers) what ones they are most commonly placing on new provisioned servers, not what clients think.

If anyone is using CPanel they tend to use CentOS

I don't use CPanel so I try to get Debian servers as I find them easier to administrate (have less services installed as deafult)

About 85% of my clients actually request CentOS, with the others being small developers requesting either Ubuntu or Debian

Approx. 92% of our VPS's are CentOS, the others being Ubuntu, Suse, Debian and/or FreeBSD

Of about 140 servers, I think approximately 100 of them are CentOS/cPanel. As others have pointed out, if you run cPanel...you're probably using CentOS.

It's been mostly CentOS for new VPS/server provisions.

It's mostly CentOS here as well, I was just wondering if it was the same for everyone.

Well, whenever people come onto live chat enquiring about dedicated servers & VPS, CentOS is more popular with about 90% of live chat requests being for CentOS
