Need honest comments
Hi all
I am doing a site for my friend's cousin
The screenshot of the 1st design draft can be found here
http://clients.nivlek78.com/bleuu/
Fire away.
I know it is not uber but I am still considered an amatuer
Appreciate any help and advice all of you can give me on improvements.
Some info on the company...it is an event management company of sorts that helps to organise bazzars and flea markets sort of thing.

I like the basic design but it does not look like a business website.

YOu need lighter colors normally for a more approachable business design if you know what i mean? But just make the button size smaller and lighten it up a bit, i think you could definately make something nice.

I'm with Synthetic on this one. Put some time into working on the logo! That could really help turn this into a more professional looking site.
You have a nice, simple design and I think once it's filled in with content/images, you'll see it take some shape. From there, you'll be able to tell what needs more work, if anything.
Good start!

The logo needs needs to be changed. The background colors you have used is blue which goes with the name of the company. If you place copyright notice at the bottom center it may look better.

thank you all
i made minor changes, taking into acct. some of the comments here
main change is the logo (that is their original company logo, was waiting for it and they just sent it to me today. all i did was remove the backgrd and added the glow to make the logo stand out)
and moving of the copyright to the bottom
Also changed the message header box to lime green (in the hope of making it look less dull)
and reduced the blue lighting effect on the left side.
still wondering how to 'brighten' the site while keeping to the blue and black them that they want.
Continue to fire away
and thx for being kind thus far.
a few other boards that i won't mention...when u post for comments..they seem more intend on enforcing their ego unto you with some really pompous remarks. They seem more intend on putting u down than actually helping u improve the site.
That has not been the case here....thanks

The new logo looks even more bad. It requires lot of efforts to make a logo....sorry to say that.
