Does anyone know where I might look for reasonably-priced (Cogent's fine) colocation in the Seattle, WA area? Google isn't turning anything up that even half-way rivals what I'm seeing in other parts of the country, but I'd rather keep the server close to home so that I can visit it if it gets lonesome.
The best way I've found to shop for colocation is to determine first what company you want providing your bandwidth.
I know that if you ask the people at Cogent, they'll give you a list of Seattle area datacenters that are on-net for Cogent. I'm sure other providers would too.
Just an insider tip, though. Don't ever host anything you value in a datacenter that resides in the Westin Building in Seattle. Seattle is earthquake prone and the Westin Building sits right on a major fault line.
I believe you can find several good facilities not in the Westin Building. There's an ATT datacenter (top notch, but not the cheapest) on highway 99 in Lynnwood if you're on the north end of Seattle.
