    Live chat software?

    Hi all

Which other than live person is a good chat program for your website?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I find that Kayako's LiveResponse is a great system. Also, StarDevelop's Live Help is great too and cheaper than LiveResponse. Check them both out and see which one helps you the most.

    Steve,

Then check out Live Response from Kayako:

    http://www.kayako.com/liveresponse.php

It's about $30/month, maybe that might be able to fit you, but I think Live Help would be ultimately cheaper if you plan on using it for a while.

    Good luck

There are several posts about this topic (probably over 70).

Please look at www.websitealive.com. They offer the best service, best experience and for the best price that I'm aware of. You can look at www.boldchat.com as well.

We use Stardevelop LiveHelp and to be honest its awesome for the price of an owned license. The Desktop client is also excellent.

do any of these web-based LiveChat clients use reverse Ajax for chat notifications or chatting?
I've found any client that uses polling to be slow and unreliable

Polling does indeed add a time lag -- it seems to only be on chat initiation, but it appears to be up to 30-60 seconds in some instances.

I have used Provide Support, which costs about $15 a month, and you don't have to worry about installing any software on your server, just a bit of code on each page that you want to feature Live Chat on. You are also able to download Chat Consoles for your PC, so that you don't have to use a Web-based system.

    Hi,

Feature per Feature, which is better StarDevelop Live Help ($119.95 One Time) or Provide Support Live Chat ($15 / mo)?. As per pricing, I think StarDevelop is cost effective in the long run.

I have Kayako's Suite, which includes Liveperson, and it has been great. I also tried LivePerson, but switched because pricing was high per month, you couldn't host it yourself, and dh needed something that could merge better with the business.

The solution between the two, Provide Support Live Chat StarDevelop, is up to you. Do you want to pay one time or monthly , depends on your budget, however the onetime fee would personally be best for me. You have a sense that you own the license.
