Is there such a thing? I would love to be able to offer my hosting clients the ability to stream audio/video, and maybe even live streaming, but that's an area I know nothing about, and I have no interest in trying to dive into it at this point.

Are there any companies out there that offer branded reseller media streaming services? Or perhaps even an affiliate program?

I get enough customer inquiries about it that I'd like to offer it to them in some capacity, rather than just telling them "no, we don't offer it". If they want it badly enough, they're going to go find it somewhere, and I may as well make a little income from it, or at the very least be able to offer it to my customers as an extended service of my company.

You may want to look into a dedicated server, or starting out with a VPS server

Yeah, a small dedicated server is your best bet. As resellers are not that reliable.

I appreciate the dedictated/vps suggestions, but it was sort of the point that I didn't want to get into trying to host a streaming media service myself. I have a full-time job, a perpetual backlog of client development projects, and I'm working on getting my hosting biz off the ground, not to mention a wife and 2 babies, so I really have zero time available for anything new.

That's why I was hoping to find a host that was already an expert at media streaming hosting that I could either resell services for, or refer their service on an affiliate basis.

Snargleflap, it's funny that you bring up this topic. I've been knocking around the idea of offering streaming hosting myself. I'm just not sure if I'm ready to jump into it head first!

If you have the technical expertise, there are plenty of scripts out there to help get you going and all you need is a dedicated server.

Windows media and NSV tools (shoutcast) is your best bet.

Many people offer shoutcast resellers.. most use Cast Control or WHMSonic

i would get a dedicated server and then load up whmsonic or similar. - also select a company that can help you in mgmt should you need it

live365 is a big rip off dont use that.
