Beer here from WWC, we have just released our new server/client Instant Message service that lets you run your own Instant Messaging service, that you can fully customize with our install builder IDE. Your IM users can also optionally log into AOL AIM and MSN messenger simultaniously with your own IM service.
there is a demo you can download on the following webpage, which is a sample application we compiled with the default options. The actual IDE that we sell lets you make your IM client any way you want though.
Since most shared servers don't offer server side java support, I am also offering to host it for anybody that doesn't have java enabled on their server.
If you'd like to know more about my java hosting, email me at [email protected] with details of what you want to do. I won't accept everybody for this low cost java hosting, but I will accept those who want to use it under controled conditions, and I will definately host anybody that buys our product and wants a host for it.
The application is a sample app that we made with the IDE we actually sell to make your own Instant Messaging client.
We decided to make the sample to resemble MSN messenger as not to alienate people, and show them an example that they would be familiar with.
We do not expect people that purchase our Instant Messenging IDE to create their Instant Messengers in the form of MSN Messenger, unless they want to that is.
You see, we sell you an app that lets you make an instant messenger client and installer custom, the way you want it, with your own colors, images, styles, texts, language, everything on the client is pretty much customizable, and you don't have to know how to program a single line of code.
This IDE compiles your custom instant Messenging client so that you can distribute it to your users, and on the server side, you can either set up a java or Win32 native server which comes with the app and is the best option, or you can run it in script mode in PHP or Perl if you cannot run a daemon on yourserver. The script mode is not as good, because it has the clients running in p2p mode, only connecting to the server to log their IP and retrieve the last known IP of their buddies. Also, the script mode doesn't work with proxy connections, as the java server and win32 native server daemons that come with the app DO support proxy connections.
That is why I'm offering hosting for java daemons, because 99.9% of hosts are scared that a Win32 or Java daemon will run a muck on their server, and thus people that buy this app and are on shared servers have no place to run the better java server option.
So I now host the shared space for the java server myself, and that was what this post was all about.
It's also an offer to anybody that wants a host to run low CPU usage java daemons. I will accept people that plan to run daemons or java apps responsibly as well, not just our WW Instant Messenger 2 customers. My email is above for contact, and those that seek the java space, must provide GREAT detail and examples of what they plan to do if they want me to say yes.
