jQuery.

I'm in the midst of writing a series of donationware based online services, for people in the hosting and technology industry.

I'm now torn between writing all of my own javascript, or going with something such as jQuery. I've used it in the past, but it seems to have come a long way since then, and it could cut my development timeframe down drastically. Also, the plugin interface looks quite good.

Is there anything about jQuery (pros/cons) that I should really be aware of? Or should I just drop my hesitation and jump straight in with it.

Thanks in advance.

The only reason I ever make something custom rather than using jQuery is for the size. If I'm making a script for a stats tracker for example, I'll just make my own class or something.

Everything else.. I'm just so much more productive in jQuery. At ~20KB packed the size concerns don't often bother me on any relatively large project.
