    RH Linux 7.3 (i386) on i686 PC

    Hello,

    How do you intall RH Linux 7.3 (i386) on i686 pc?

    I can only find 1386 to download, but my system is i686.
    Where do I find RH Linux 7.3 (i686) to download and install it on my i686 pc?

    I think the whole x86 series falls under i386

    I installed RH Linux 7.2

    -able to start eth0
    -unable to start 1pd and get pass it

    I installed RH Linux 7.3

    -unable to start eth0

    7.2 vs 7.3 had some issues with networking and if i knew that ahead of time, I wouldnt have installed 7.3. I still cant get my dsl to work.

    masood suggestion works best. run that in a terminal and it will list what you missed on startup

    Let me try reinstall it again to see if the problem goes away.

    On RedHat, typically the only rpms that are built for the i686 arch are going to be the i686 kernel rpms.

    There is no i686 dist of redhat. You may want to download all of the srpms and recompile them yourself if you want to make one.

    Most people just install RedHat using all of their rpms compiled for i386 and then use the i586 or i686 kernel.
