Connecthost.net review


After 2 months, I wanted everyone to know how things are going. At first, things were great. Being new, I had alot of questions, and Cameron was very patient, and went beyond the call of duty. Kudos to him. But in the first week, I was down 3 straight days. Support said it was somebody sending thousands of spam emails, and clogging the system. I guess that happens, not blaming them. Everything was good again after that, until nearing the end of my second month. My billing period was from 05/06/08 to 06/06/08. Five days ago, my site went down. When I opened a ticket, it was closed, and I was told my account was terminated for non-payment for 1-2 months. I sent billing an email as instructed, and told them to look up my invoice number, that I had paid 04/27/08. An email came back, saying it was a billing error. They apologized, and gave me the option of refunding the money, or getting an extra months hosting. I replyed that the extra month would be good. That was over 36 hours ago, and still no response or hosting. I tried opening another ticket, but that page is down. Like I said, I'm new to this, and only had one customer, but he is emailing me all the time wondering what's going on. Sad to say, I will have to get my hosting elsewere. I cannot recommend them.

Connecthost.net is working fine.
The domain is only a few months old though.
I think it's time to search for a new host.

And they couldn't put a stop to it for 3 days. Sounds mighty strange.

Like the above, 3 days no service is already very strange but the way they handle your account is not very professional either, maybe they have a good reason, but even if so your customer wants reliable hosting.

Hosting is not about just finding a hosting company where you can buy services, it is finding a hosting partner, one you can build your company on. There are plenty of good hosts around who can help you with this.

I wish you all the best in finding a hosting partner.

Hi There (Sorry to bump an oldish topic),

Now 3 days? If we were down for 3 days I doubt we would have any customers left Are you sure your IP wasn't just blocked? We have very tight security on the servers. We did have problems with mail spamming but the server went slow, I think it crashed once, but never for 3 days

Now about your hosting being terminated, it seemed the billing system missed you email, I don't know how or why that happened, but please feel free to email me personally and I'll give you a refund.

Don't buy from these guys. They lost my entire forums data (SQL database) during a backup, and evidently are refusing my refund, and a backup of my data, which they "supposedly" took before they switched servers.

I hope they know I'm serious when I say I'll kill their company, and take them for everything they have, if I don't get my data back.

hey guys, new here. cool forum

i am entering my second month with netxservers as my vps providers, i went on their live chat, with some strange requests, and was met with an instant(yes we can!!) attitude. i have many clients come and gone, from the moment i was activated without complaint.
(being honest) i had a reboot due to a spammer, but i can honestly say, i have so far had nothing but top notch customer service.
as far as installs and techn, side of servers i am a dumb F*@?, but for (unmanaged) these support guys have the patience of saints, and have guided me on every stupid question so far. actually in the last few weeks their response time has at least doubled on their support tickets, so thumbs up from me!!

thought maybe one of us should lay off and give a bit of positive in this thread.
