Hey,

What desktop support systems are there with applications I can install on windows to manage tickets etc?

Kayako esupport/supportsuite is pretty popular these days and they do a Desktop client/alert tool for Windows (http://www.kayako.com/instaalert.php)

I would definatley reccomend Kayako even though I've only used it from a clients point of view.

I looked at live person's but that was VERY expensive.

I had saw similar softwares to kayako. But kayako is cheaper and more professional and popular software.

LivePerson can be an impressive solution, but I think their service is only remotely hosted (not locally installable software). I have heard that arise as a concern, from a network speed / reliability standpoint in general.

While LivePerson is hosted I believe a desktop application is provided for the agents.

We are using SaevenCRM - http://crm.saeven.net. Tickets are answered using the Java desktop client.
