You can download 2.2.6 from vB members area, and use the config.php.new from there.. nothing changes in the config.php..

I'd suggest upgrading to 2.2.6 also...

It would be illegal for anyone to send him any file from vbulletin anyways (even if it's just one file).

I don't think so. I was looking for some software that I owned, but the cd was broken... People told me I was a pirate, and I thought it was pretty crude. I had to buy the software again...

That what happens when you opt to pay for software as opposed to open source. Than you have things like WPA to deal with as well.

No, most places will have a place for members to download the latest version...

Or get your cc info to verify that you bought the software, and resend it..

Being open source has nothing todo with it....

Open source has a lot to do with asking people to send you files. You cant do that with vBull, but you can with open source.

It doesn't have anything to do with it, because VBulletin is Open Source yet you can't do it.

This must be a misunderstanding. I pay 85$ per year for vBulletin. Besides, he wouldn't be called a pirate if he asked for Open Source software.
