A beautiful babe on eBay !

    German services seize 'eBay baby'

Authorities in Bavaria, southern Germany, have taken a seven-month-old boy into care after his parents offered him for sale on eBay "as a joke".

The unnamed child was advertised as a "nearly-new baby" with a starting price of one euro (0.80, $1.6).
Police have launched an investigation into possible child-trafficking by the infant's father, 24, and mother, 23.
The mother told a German newspaper: "It was only a joke. I just wanted to see if someone would make an offer."
Speaking to Bild, she said she was also being made to undergo psychiatric tests.
'Gotten too loud' A police spokesperson in the Bavarian town of Krumbach said the mother had also told police the offer had been a "joke".

Too stupid of the authorities. Of course it was a joke.

No one will post human trafficking on ebay.

Ugh, It doesn't matter that it was a joke - but they should be at least fined for it.

Isn't it illegal on e-bay to put up an offer for people to bid on if you don't plan on give the 'highest bider' the breathing or non-breathing noun... ?
I am surprise e-bay is not trying to sue them for fraud and illegal actions.

I wonder how the paypal dispute process would go for something like that, since it'd be a tangible item

So a joke gets their baby seized. Imagine how those folks in Texas feel after a hoax caused 400+ kids to be rounded up and taken away from their families. Even after a state appellate court ruled a few days ago that the state had no right to seize the 400+ kids Texas is still refusing to return those children to their families.

That's what they were bound to say.
I could tell you a joke about UDP. But I'm not sure you would get it!

I think any person with a decent sense of humor can look at the wording of the eBay ad and determine that it's a joke. "...can be used either in a baby carrier or a stroller" ? Come on.

Without wishiong to move off topic, I thought the courts only said the procedures used were wrong.
Below is an extract from: BBC News
"This case is about adult men commanding sex from underage children... about the need for the Department to take action under difficult, time-sensitive and unprecedented circumstances to protect children on an emergency basis,"

I've never heard this incident being refered to as a hoax.

In both the German & texan cases, the 'risk' to the children, has to take priority.
We've had incedents over here[UK] which have proven to be wrong, and very sad, but I'd always be happier to see the children 'over protected' than 'Damaged'.

    Is this OK ?

Grown men have been leaping over rows of babies in the north Spanish village of Castrillo de Murcia in an annual rite meant to ward off the Devil.

    Here is the story...

Are tickets available on eBay ?
