Setting up a free web host - easiest software?

Okay one of my clients runs a club and he wants his members to have free web pages on his server. I have his server up an running with CENTOS 5.x, Apache, PostFix, and etc. I already have in place for him Webmin and Usermin. He is a HORRIBLE system admin. So I need an EASY control panel software where he can set up these pages on the fly for his club members with out calling me constantly.

I looked at XPanel and it SOUNDS great, but can not seem to find many posts here of ppl using it and singing its praises, is it any good? Or is there a better replacement?

    Thanks!

If he's just looking for something that can handle user signups and would require him only to login and click a link to set up accounts, you might take a look at iPanel from http://www.ihostdev.com . It's a very full featured software and pretty inexpensive for all that's included. I've used it in the past and it's just great all around

I think iPanel requires cPanel though right? I rather stay away from PLESK and CPANEL.

From a quick peek at their page, these are the latest supported (or in development) control panels:

    Cpanel/WHM
    DirectAdmin (New)
    Plesk (New)
    CentovaCast
    VirtualAdmin (in dev)
    Hypervm (in dev)

Now, if you're looking for a software that will handle signups AND act as a control panel for the users' sites, that's a bit different, and in that case iPanel probably wouldn't be a good choice for your client.

Yea. Pretty much. The goal is to automate as much of it as possible through on interface so that he is not involved more then a link to approve/disapprove new web sties.

    Just go with cPanel.
You can get really affordable licenses for cPanel

If you need signups and control panel then use clientexec with cpanel or directadmin. CE is easy and simple to use, and directadmin is a bit more simple than cPanel to use, but does have less features.

I'm not sure what your budget is like, but you can always have somebody program something from scratch if you don't like what is out there.

I could write one from scratch, but I am doing this for him as a favor, cant spend that kind of time on it. I have clients that pay for my time that need attention. hehI guess for $30 I will just try XPanel since it does not require cPane/Plesk junk.
