First off...
What are the chips?
What is the OS?
What is the BIOS?
What is the Mobo(Brand/Model)?
Does the BIOS recognize both chips?
Does the OS support a dual-chipset?
Has it always been like this (since you built/bought it)?
--> If not? When did it start happening?
--> If so? Have you checked the jumper settings on the Mobo to see if they are right?char x [5] = { 0xf0, 0x0f, 0xc7, 0xc8 }main (){void (*f)() = x;f();}

Most of the time you will have a single cpu kernal and a dual cpu kernel. Make sure you are booting into the correct one. Even going into single, during bootup it will still show two cpu's...but only use one.
If that's not it, check your boot logs. I'd bet the OS was compiled for single cpu only if you "dont" have two kernels.Last edited by Webdude; 08-25-2002 at 03:42 AM.
