Partial site ripped

Can someone tell me the steps to stop this site to use images of my site?
http://www.interteknik.com/
http://www.interteknik.com/ssk.htm in this page link still point to my site
http://www.absolutus.com/

The site who ripped the design is in Turkey,
my company is in Italy
the other my company who designed my site is in U.S.A.

the company hosting interteknik.com should be Burst.net.

What a crappy rip! You can see where they used the clone tool like 4 times!

I would suggest you change the layout of your site. If you have copyrighted it, you can take legal action.

If they've linked the images to your site, replace the images with a .gif protesting the rip (i.e. "IF YOU CAN READ THIS, THIS SITE IS A RIP OFF!"). If you don't know Turkish (I think), just use a porno image

Hi Simone,

What they've done is dispicable.

I've written them an email in Turkish telling them off in the worst possible way (taking aim at that honor, etc... big things if you're Turkish!) In any case, I hope it helps.

I hope you pursue this since your site is protected by copyright (you don't apply for copyright, it is a *right* that you possess as the creator of a work.) The best thing to do would be to talk with a lawyer who can send them a letter telling them to stop what they're doing. Usually, this is enough to frigthen people and won't cost you too much (most lawyers charge a small, fixed rate for this.)

Good luck.

Aral

Ubergeek,

Here's a nice text he can use:

"Dikkat! Bu site sahibleri hirsiz: bizim grafiklerimizi ve tasarimimizi caliyorlar. Kendi gozlerinizle gormek icin <your_address_here> adresine gidiniz."

Basically:

"Attention! The owners of this site are thieves: they are stealing our graphics and layout. If you would like to see for yourselves, go to <your address here>."

hth,
Aral

Why is it when someone says, MY SITE IS RIPPED. The first reply is like "Get a Lawyer" For all you people who may not know LAWYERS ARE EXPENSIVE. Its better to work it out then spend money on a lawyer.

Thanks for good advices and help,

the problem now look resolved probably for email Aral sent to the company, all the files are removed.

This post probably saved me from a lot of dollars in a lawyer and an international lawyer is very expensive.

Hey Simone,

I just received a letter back from one of the members of the company in question. I'm posting the English translation here, along with the Turkish original. Apparently the company didn't have any idea that the design firm they hired was doing this and when they received my letter they took action. They should be commended for acting so quickly.

Here then is the letter:

Dear Aral,

Upon receipt of your email we investigated the matter and found out that things were as you stated. We were thus able to terminate our relationship with the web design firm before completion of the project. Our company would like to thank you for warning us in time about this.

Respectfully,
Faruk Avar

Lawyer suggestion is good but maybe expensive. Maybe change the path of your file such that their link does not work or if it is clicked it comes to a page saying about their cheating.

Aral,

That was exceptionally nice of you, and I wanted to be the next to say so in public. It is the very idea that otherwise unrelated individuals are willing to act on behalf of one another without the expectation of personal gain that turns the population here into a real community.
