    Question Ecatel.net - How Are They ?

    Hello

    i have seen alot of positive and negative review about ecatel.net

    im planning to collocate one server with them and also planning to buy one server for back up with them
    so i really need some review about Ecatel....

    What is stopping me to go with them is

    1) They dont have any site....(under construction)
    2) They don't even have any sign up system
    3) Lots Of Controversial review At WHT


    Positive Point

    1) Great Rates ...
    2) Providing very decent amount of bandwidth in Good rates
    3) claiming for best services in Industry
    4) quick answer to sales question

    so this generally happens that companies answer pre-sales question very fast and in support they are dull

    and above all reliability of provider & quality of bandwidth is the Most important thing

    so guys pls help me out...
    waiting for your reviews and suggestion

    I got server from them one week ago so far good

    get sign up via e-mail & invoice also same but very quick, all process take 2 hours that is fast server setup I had

    bandwidth usage Average In 31.0 Mb/s / MAX 72.2 Mb/s on 100 mbit shared bandwidth

    order AMD ATHLON 2400+ CPU but get Pentium 2160 DualCore

    Evey thing seems ok to me

    For what it's worth, I was in the same boat as you around the end of last year - looking for Netherlands/Amsterdam colocation, and Ecatel had made my short-list. However the 3 concerns you raised, combined with the fact they were heavily pushing cheap/unmetered boxes and I could see them becoming the next Leaseweb/Rackedge/etc, made me decide to go elsewhere. (no disrespect to Ecatel though - I'm sure they have plenty of satisfied customers.)

    I have also tried to get some information about Ecatel and also as you can see in the topic I started about Leasweb and I must say I had many positive reactions in my personal mailbox for both these companies.

    yeh im also getting many positive reviews abt them but at that same time some negative also , and today their support

    guys told me a very strange thing that they dont provide any hardware update ...like if i want my ram to be upgraded to 8

    gb then they cant , they give us machine as they get from their vendor...its lil strange .....

    what problem they have to upgrade hardware ?

    so im not able to decide some people claims that they are not too good in quality , they are providing cheap rates and

    huge bandwidth but still i prefer quality

    what say guys...

    Well, you should take note that some providers do not just check WHT forums all the time since this is not their support/sales channel.

    The only way is to contact them directly.

    Hello,

    Indeed we do not support hardware upgrades, simply because we deliver our dedicated servers on monthly base. It is a lot of work to install and remove hardware all the time from servers for clients who maybe stay only one month.

    If clients stay for a longer periods we can always make exceptions in this matter.

    When our hardware gets broken it is replaced within 60-120 minutes gauranteed.

    Our power is to deliver quick service to our clients and deliver servers fastly after order. This doesnt work with such cases like hardware upgrades etc.

    @forumtalk,

    can you please pm me your client ID, regarding the 75,- EURO server. This because we do not offer this configuration for this price. Ofcourse when you are right we will not adjust the price but i want to clearify some things internally. Thanks.

    Search in other threads about ecatel and their quality. They are very good and explain all your questions.

    QUICK:

    1) Their site is under construction because they prepare the new one. They say that in the end of month it will be ready.

    2) As that they dont have a signup system. However you can register with them via email.

    3) There are many competitors around

    That i could say is: send them an email and ask for a test server. They will immediately setup a server for you to do tests and use their bandwidth. You will be amazed by their speed in shared unmetered servers.

    Also their support is fantastic either before you buy or after that. They reply within few minutes.

    As for their nonupgradable servers its because their supplier probably. However in case you need upgrade you can just go to a brand new server and just transfer your data..

    thank you for your reply. Indeed if a client wants to upgrade to another server we also give the client the time to upgrade, for example leave the old server online for another week etc to transfer his data to the new one.

    Can the customer after he move the data, use the old IP?

    I am not with them now, as i am not in need of a server anymore.

    However recently i used one of their test servers.

    Send them an email and test their speeds before you buy.

    i tried to get one but no more test server available now .....
