    cardservice.com merchant account??

I think I am getting a cardservice merchant account with linkpoint gateway soon. Does anyone know what else do I need to get? For example, do I need to get 3rd party software like modernbill to do the billing?? I never used a full merchant account before and currently relying on paysystems. I must say paysystems offers very simple billing system and they manage all the recurring transactions. Everything is pretty easy to integrate with our site.

Have you shopped around? Cardservice SUCKS. Look very closely at 2 things in your contract:
1.) They don't have any type of SLA (Service Level Agreement) that talks about their gateway being up (even say, 80% of the time)
2.) Your contract period is 'autorenewing' and is in 6 month intervals. Cancel before then, and you pay a $300 penalty. (And you can read some stories here about how folks tried to cancel when it was appropriate and STILL got nailed with the $300 cancellation fee).

You might wonder why nobody tries to defend Cardservice here from their company -- it's because THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU. You're just a number. If you want anywhere near 'average' service they'll nickel and dime you to death -- otherwise get ready to settle for 'below average service' (to put it lightly).

Get something from an authorize.net reseller (because many payment systems integrate with their gateway) or something from ECHO because they're inexpensive and they have an AWESOME XML based gateway API.

We are international merchant. There is currently only two options. Either go get planetpayment or cardservice international account. I believe planetpayment's service is just as bad as cardservice international. So, I still really want to know what else would you need once you obtain a merchant account through cardservice.

Do not use CardService! THEY SUCKS!

They take years to answer emails, specially when you ask them where its your money!.

They caught $3.5K from my first month with them as a deposit, and they said that they will take it for only 30 days, I'm still waiting that money.
    Don't go with them.

Did you contacted to W. Fargo?
I think that you can get their merchant account + AuthorizeNet.
