Any provider with Price Match policy?

    Hi,

I wonder any provider still offering Price Match policy?

I saw some before but not anymore.

It would be very hard to compare two providers unless they were resellers as each DC is different

Some companies do price match, but not necessarily in the "bring the ad into the store and we'll match the price of a competitor" way. If you give them a different price from a competitor, they'll negotiate with you and it won't necessarily be just with price, but also with upgrades, management, etc. The services provided by different providers are so diverse that it's more about negotiating than price matching.

Most providers will negotiate based on other offers that you have, but they have to be apples to apples.

Hardware prices are different for each of the brands and so are bandwidth prices. For support, you get what you pay for. Not sure if price-match is possible with so many variables.

Most providers will offer some sort of matching guarantee, but these days when resellers can open up shop and offer dirt cheap servers just to lure clients in , we will not match a startup , unrecognized companies pricing.

Well, there is nothing wrong if you shoot an inquiry to the providers if they can match it :-)

As far as I remember, I've seen a2b2 offer price match. Contact Rus to see if he still has this offer.

Then clearly you have a good offer and should just go with it.

    OMG...sounds simple; but cheap isn't always better/worse.

And when do you classify a company as 'recognized'?

It's also been referred to such companies as "low end" :). Keeping new customer influx in control is seen as weakness nowadays, sadly.

Been ruminating over this one for a couple of days now.

If you have a price then why would you need the same price elsewhere? You can just buy at that price.

If you want price match from someone else, then it implies that you are not sure that they are up to the job, and want some other provider, but at the same price. At that point, it is not apples to apples.

Better! Look for providers that BEAT competitor prices ;)

I believe that he will always entertain a reasonable price match, even if he has not posted a "price match" offer on WHT.

The competitive nature of the industry, combined with the varying levels of quality and features between offers make price-matching policies difficult to apply.

A provider wanting to earn your business will make you a counter-offer which could potentially cost less

Yeah in my experience I have almost alway been lucky enough to shop around, find a few places that are similar in offers and present that I am trying to decide between the two...usually I get some kind of discounted or promo offer
