Yeah, the connection looks ok from my vps. There's no packet loss and 30ms is ok.

Both site home pages loaded within a couple of seconds.

Is it possible that the server is running out of memory under load?

Try typing 'free' on the server.

Nope, your memory looks OK at the minute.

Another couple of things you can try ...

Use 'top' to monitor cpu usage and io wait times (marked as %wa)

The other thing you could try is using something like 'mtr' (or ping) to see if you've got any packet loss from your PC .

Does it seem slow all the time or just at certain times? Could be someone else on the VPS host affecting your performance.

When i do a ping it is 542ms average.

My average bandwidth on this VPS is currently +- 5gb for the month so far which i dont think is extreme.

i had another reseller with a company that made a duck and i moved all these accounts to this VPS. Maybe it is just my imagination as the sites just feel a bit slower than before but i could have been on a faster server before.

Also it could be my connection from here as i see i go all the way to London - New York and then Liquid Web

Do you get any packet loss running ping? Leave it running for a while then, when you stop it, it'll give you a % of packet loss.

Yes, if you're ssh'd in the your server's just pinging itself :-)

(linux ping runs continuously as you've found - no need for the '-t')

Thanks for all your help much appreciated. i think it is just the connection from SA to USA which is slow sometimes. i noted your signature as i might need you for something soon. Not on this VPS as it is fully managed with LW
