I read a discussion about this a while ago in Metafilter - weird sport. I've never seen it on t.v. but did, out of curiosity, check out the website.

Look lads choose fighting or tramplines or basketball, you can't do all 3 at one time.
    I'm feeling very critical tonight.

Plus - it's tough to sell a sport that none of the viewers will ever have a chance to play.

    I'm torn on SlamBall.

Generally, I'm a sports purist. I hated the XFL and Arena League because they aren't true football. Generally, I'd feel the same about this. It isn't basketball and shouldn't be passed off to basketball fans.

But Pat Croce (I'm a diehard sixers fan) had a big hand in getting this under way, and I just can't root against anything Pat does, so I hope it succeeds.

When I visited the US a few weeks ago it was on tv all the time, it looks like fun to do. They even had someone from teh Conan O'brian staff do it .. he sucked at it, seems harder then you would think

I have never saw this before.
I'll watch out for it on Eurosport but new sports do have to be of some high quality to be shown on that channel .
