Question Bandwidth Question - What gets metered?

    Hi,

Just a quick question on bandwidth. I would like to know if there are any tips on saving bandwidth. Actually I would like to know what type of data/ports/protocols get monitored for bandwidth usage on a typical Reseller account.

For example when I log into WHM, does that go against my monthly bandwidth quota? What about when I'm working on my site via FTP (port 21)? What about customers who use Dreamweaver and work on their site live. What about checking sending/checking email (port 25/110).

Do you see what I'm getting at? What protocols/ports/services get monitored. Is it just port 80/443? Just curious if there are ways to avoid consuming unnecessarily for myself and customers..

    Thanks,

    jamz

I believe that all types of traffic are calculated: web, ftp, email, whm, cpanel ...
But majority of bandwidth usage is website traffic.
