Which is better? ClientExec or WHMCS

    Hello,

I am planning to go with InnoHosting reseller account. They offer free ClientExec/WHMCS billing system.

Which is better and easier to use? I have no experience using either of these billing systems and would appreciate any suggestions or pointers.

Are these billing systems as complex as that of H-Sphere?

I am currently signed up with Eirca but got thoroughly confused with H-Sphere. That is why I want to shift to InnoHosting because I am familiar with WHM and cPanel.

    Thanks,
    Jatinder

    WHMCS by a longshot.

I'd use ClientExec if it was free and the only choice available.. but given the choice... I prefer WHMCS.

Thanks for the response. Is WHMCS better in terms of ease of use or is it better in terms of features?

I am looking for something that is easy to use. We are basically web development firm and web hosting is just a secondary service we provide to some of our local clients.

I'd use ClientExec if it was free
I am getting ClientExec for free. Should that affect by decision?

I would also choose WHMCS. It is much easier to use and is more feature rich. If you wanted to try each yourself, you can go their website:

    WHMCS: http://www.whmcs.com/demo.php
    ClientExec: http://www.newedge.com/clientexec/demo.html

I prefer WHMCS both because of additional features and because of developer responsiveness.

Even tho I think WHMCS has a smaller development team... ClientExec produces new fixes and features 10x slower. ClientExec's support staff seems retarded or useless. I've put in various feature requests or bug reports to ClientExec. One was basically a calculation error but it was completely changeable in templating. By the time they replied to me a week later and then implemented a fix for the next release, I'd already figured out how to fix it myself.

Whereas with WHMCS I've made feature requests at like 3am saturday morning... and gotten a reply from Matt in 10 minutes.

Yes, WHMCS is great. ClientExec is alright, but it can get complicated at times. Not to mention the fact that the order form looks hideous.

What specifically did you have a problem with? Did you create a ticket or take a look at the Live! portal for the documentation? Let our guys know if you need assistance.

Are these billing systems as complex as that of H-Sphere?
They are third party scripts interacting with a single server environment with no billing layers so are not near as complex because they have significantly less to do or control. H-Sphere is integrated control where every action can trigger a billing item if you wish. The third party scripts can't do that as they are not intuitive or integrated enough.

In my honest opinion they are on par and do well in their own areas. Clientexec is harder to skin compared to WHMCS which is the only major downside.

Clientexec has better built-in support which has some very unique features.

If clientexec was skinable in the way WHMCS is I'd probably use it.

    WHMCS of course.

As mentioned before, I found Client Exec can sometimes
be a little bit complex. WHMCS, work straight out of the box.
    Very intuitive.

Both of them are complex softwares. But WHMCS is more easy to use and better for hosting business according to me.

Hands down on features and customization - WHCMS. If your looking for a quick start up with limited settings to adjust - CE.

Adjusting skins and customizing interfaces in ClientExec isn't as simple as other tools, but we've found its depth of customization and features extremely powerful.

The responsiveness of the team at NewEdge is also extremely good.

Based on the features and support, we highly recommend ClientExec.

    Jatinder,

Why dont you go through the online demo of both panels? This will help you decide what fits your requirement.

    Good luck!

CE is okay... but WHMCS is a much more complete solution, and Matt rolls out the updates quite frequently.

It's going to cost you a bit more, but it is well worth it.

Yeah, all go for WHMCS, it is far better!

I use client exec for game servers and it takes a lot of time to manage customers, I don't like it at all, WHMCS is the better way to go

WHMCS all the way. I think you should try the demo available on each website (WHMCS and CE) so you can make a decision yourself!

WHCMS does seem to have alot more functionality, with a more user-friendly interface. I'd go for it over ClientExec.

WHMCS definitely! It's better feature wise.

I've switched from CE to WHMCS a year ago and never look back.

whmcs is the best. Most wht members love whmcs, dont ever hear any complaints. Support is great at WHT. We use a few different WHMCS for different applications...

WHMCS...we've been using it since before it become "the billing system"

We've used ClientExec, Modernbill, WHMAutopilot and AWBS. WHMCS does a better job at handling dedicated server signups, reseller and VPS billing.

Their support system is great also. Matt has done some custom work for us for a very reasonable price (special reports). Try that with those other billing systems.
