    Lightbulb PC Anywhere Experiences?

Please provide your experiences using PC Anywhere. If I have a Windows server with PC Anywhere installed can I install software, use Windows Update, restart Windows, browse the web using IE, etc. Can I really see and control everything within Windows as if I were in front of the screen? What are the limitations when using PC Anywhere?

Nobody here has used PC Anywhere? Any hosting providers running Windows Server have any experiences using this software?

Try using Timbuktu, it is very easy to use, and less people use it, meaning less hackers have a copy.

Yes, with PC Anywhere, it is just like you are in front of the monitor that is connected to the server.

You might like to look at VNC. Very similar to PC Anywhere, but best of all it's free (or was the last time I checked).

if its 2k server or advanced, itll come with terminal services, which is much faster.

pcanywhere actually controls what is going on at the console, so you can do everything.

radmin is a nother utility which works fine

vnc if you have nothing else.. has multiple clients, even for linux, and macos x, but very insecure, look on google for vnc with ssh tunneling

By the way Timbuktu is cross-platform. So a Mac user can control his/her Windows server.

Wow sounds pretty cool. If someone was still on a slow dial-up account at home but had a Windows server at a data center using remote control software can they browse the web at faster speeds than at home or will there be a delay or lag between the remotely connected computers?

Also PCA has a tendency to be slow and locks up often.
