Flash websites and positioning

On several accounts I've been told that positioning all-flash websites is a treterous task due to their bot-"illegible" content. Is this true?

I agree, you need to have a plan to include some html within the flash site.

Yep, all-flash websites are not good for SEO.
Most of the 100% flash sites I know are of already famous artists, brands or companies which no need to worry about the PR or the position of search result

Well it is not illegal. Spiders just have a tough time crawling it.

There are some fixes you can use like the <noembed> tag which will give you legitimate spiderable content.

You can also do things like positioning your Flash movie over a div which contains content relevant to the Flash movie. There are those who claim that this may fall foul of the hidden content rules but IMO it is not a all spammy, and will work.
