    Is it worth it

Is it worth it upgrading from a reseller to VPS. Does speed increase alot?

For a fairly new company by the way.

you can save much , like you have own root do whatever you whant when you without be forced to open tickets with reseller company and etc..., own settings own root , settings etc... and maybe option to backup (not all hosts provide backup)

As far as speed increases are concerned it depends on the hosting provider. If they are using horribly oversubscribed machines then you can expect really poor performance. If they do not oversell and take some pride in their services then you can expect quite an improvement.

Most virtualization systems will schedule the CPU fairly, and this can be a big advantage over shared hosting. Typically you can use all the CPU if it is available, but even if everyone is trying to use the CPU at the same time you will have a guaranteed allotment.

A good VPS can be found for very little outlay, and without a long contract. If you are unsure if it is worth it just try one out for a month.

Although the recently released "VPS Optimized" Version of cPanel does help a fair bit, I would suggest going for something 384MB Ram upwards if you want to use cPanel and see some decent performance.

It depends on the VPS and guaranteed RAM, I'd go for at least 384MB RAM.

What's your budget for a VPS?

My budget is about $40/mo with cPanel

But if it includes a free whmcs then $60/mo.

It is goo to be using VPS, as you can customize it to your client needs, but you must also know how to manage, so I suggest that you get a Fully Managed VPS. Good Luck in your search.

VPS means you will enjoy more good server configuration and resource usage capability. So the overall performance should increase well.

However, note that as a reseller your customers get tech support from the Hosting company.

You would be basically becoming your own hosting company, and support to your end users would depend on your capacity to provide it, and manage your server.

If you can pay a bit more the best would be to lease a dedicated server. Even if it's a Celeron

    That's my opinion

Yea a raid-less IDE drive, 512mb and celeron cpu

No pun intended, but I think you need to do a little more research before comparing a such a server with the hardware a high-end vps runs on.
