I am running an OScommerce site which has about 300 unique IPs a day I am about to add a Joomla SOBI2 Classifieds part to the site. Currently it runs on a desktop PC which is attached to business broadband. I need to host it properly. My experience with shared hosting hasn't been good hence why I ended up doing it for my self. 99% of my customers are in the U.K so I would require a server in the UK. Since I run my own server CENTOS I am think that VPS plan might be the way to go so I can reuse skills, my cron jobs and SSL Certificate.
I have been looking at
Does anyone have any advice on the kind of plan I should take out and whether the above listed are the people I should consider?
Well I went for a2b2s cheaper value range cheapvps.co.uk - I couldn't see a disadvantage to doing this. The website wasn't as polished looking as the a2b2.com and the name sounded a little off-putting but other than that it was fine. I chose it because of the recommendedations here and because VT6s website kept timing out, at least it did on my PC. Not having used a VPS before I had no idea what to expect but for any newbies (i hate that word) to VPS reading this I can say if you just want your own linux box and have some unix skills on a fast connection I can recommend it. In fact please keep buying from them so they don't go bust and I have to find another supplier
I've got a couple of VPS's with them and they're pretty good.
