I'm not sure this fits into time tracker per se, but I use RT. For each reply or comment you make to a ticket it has a "Time" field where you can add the number of minutes you spent.

Darn board won't let me post a code link. Need to get off newbie status! Anyway we've been using "complete time tracking" for about 18 months. It could do with a few more reports but other than that it is great.

I use Slimtimer. Works great, and it will happily load up in a Firefox sidebar.

I used SideJobTrack for time-tracking along with project management for about a year and it worked great during that time. But that service has been closed to new users for a long time and has been abandoned by the developer. The service is still up and running but most pages load very slowly, making it unusable.

I now use Slimtimer for time-tracking which works great. It's free and everything loads quickly. There's task tracking, time entries, and reporting. It also has an API you can use to interface with your own apps.

slimtimer does not have cost calculations. that is what I do not like about it otherwise it is ok

Freshbooks is really the best I've seen. You can even integrate it with a merchant account / paypal to bill your customers. It has a support ticket system, and you can assign customers logins and give them access to see what you've been working on... or to see your invoices. They'll even mail paper invoices for you. You can set up recurring charges on the X day of the month for customers you have a pre-existing agreement with.

It's WAY better than SideJobTrack. If you have more than three customers, though, it costs a little bit of cash. I rarely have more than one customer at a time, so I just delete a customer after I'm done with it and avoid paying the $15/mo.
