What is the use of mojordomo on a cobalt raq4.....i can get people to subscribe to the list but i am curious to see if there is a way i can mail all of the people on the list at once.
Yes you can. I just tried it yesterday. You will have to include your email address in the list.
Once you do that just drop an email to that list email address.
If the list is call 'abc' and your domain name is 'xyz.com'
then just email [email protected] and it will get to that list.
Make sure that the email address which you use to send the email is also found on the list or else it would not work.
Its a great little program. I have all my clients emails in a list, and when we have network maintence, we send out one email to let them all know about it.
I would like to know if there is any way to edit the email that majordomo sends out when you subscribe to the list. I would like to personalize it alittle bit more.
Does any one have any experience with this. Any help would be great.
That would be great.
Note that it's very easy to code a PHP script that asks website visitors their email adress, and add it automatically to a mailinglist.
I am also interested in what lostpacket said in the above message. Has anyone edited the template that majordomo sends out and if so where is the template located??
I found where the config files are, but it looks like that majordomo uses one file for all the lista and just imputs the list name. I wanted to make a very specific one for each list.
Has any one done this ???
lostpacket where exactly are those config files located???
location of files
[[email protected] majordomo]# ls
I thought that there might be a individual config file under each domain.
[[email protected] www.digitalprinceton.net]# ls
digests files lists log
but there isnt anything that seems to tell majordomo what to do .
soor that I couldnt be more help, Im hoping that some one else will shed some light though.
