    Server Tweaking

    Hi,

I am a newbie in managing my own server. I have just transfer a website over to a dedicated server with limestone network. A lot of times my site would not load or would load after 5-10 seconds. This is probably due to too many people connecting at once (i am guessing). The website is a myspace resource site with about 2000 uniques per day or so. Anyone have any idea of how to optimze the server so the site will run better? Thanks

Have you checked the load of your server ?
    What OS do you have?
    Any control panel?

17% is not too much. How is your memory?
You should try optimizing apache and the mysql (if your site is database driven).
After that a php accelerator might also help.
Guides for all these (+securing your server) can be found by searching in WHT forums.

Thanks for your help. I am very new to this and probably will take me some time to figure everything out. Anyone interested in doing this for me for $30?

2000 is not much it all especially for a dedicated, im getting 1000 on my shared host and 15,000 on a VPS as comparison.

How much RAM do you have and how much are you using. Also whats the latency like when you ping it?
