Exclamation What was your first post/thread on WHT?

Forgive me if someone's already thought to do this, but I don't remember a thread like this one (and believe it or not, I read a good amount of the new threads here). I thought it would be interesting to lookup my first thread on WHT. When I first came here I was a newbie to hosting and a lot of internet services in general. Over time I learned more and became familiar with WHT, and I began to help others. That never really stopped, and here I am 5 years later a moderator.

So, without further ado, my first thread. Not very exciting, but I do remember the days when everything on the site was really confusing to me.

What was your first post/thread on WHT, and how have you changed after being a member here?

My first post was me looking for a host...

Shortly after I posted a post about hosting my site in-house.

How times have changed.. Since then, Ive learned how to install Apache, php, MySQL on windows and compiling from source on linux as well as php programming. I still run a website out of the house and keep it online as much as I can.

My first thread showed me how far I've come but yet how far I have to go.

Wow!! I argued a lot!! Funny thing is, I don't even remember ever hosting with this company. Must've been short-lived. I've been with HTTPme fooooreeeevverrrr. Everything in my past is a blur

    I didn't know I was such a b*tch back then. Damn!

Yeah, I think we all feel that way. That's why I sometimes like looking back through old posts. Interesting, huh?

Haha! I'm the same way. When looking back through my old posts there are a ton of things that I have no memory of - hosts I considered going with, questions I asked, etc. I hope my memory isn't crapping out on me already....

My first post was a reflection of a dark time.

Well, in a fantasy kinda way.

How have I changed? I don't think I have. I'm still fighting them black demons.

    Yes.

OK. OK. I don't mind ants being outside and in the garden. But I see no use for them in my house.

I'm amazed at how so many folks here have their first post when they come to WHT asking a question, and then decide to stick around. I think that's great.

How have I changed? Hmm, not sure. I post a lot more in the main forums rather than the ad forums now. I give myself that much.

    my first post
How have I changed? After maybe 3 months of working for one individual (as a side job), I took it full time, and am still doing it full time.
When I first posted, I had minimal experience in a number of areas (VB, a few others), obviously I've gained experience in those.

When I first posted, I knew php, but I couldn't do half of what I can now (or even 1/10th).

nice first post I think you must be Sherlock Holmes to have figured that one out (btw agree fully with your assessment that it should be free with that name)

That's really awesome! So, could you say WHT helped give you a career?

For me, WHT gave me a way to waste.... errrr..... volunteer all of my free time and stay up late each night moderating.
