Don't be fooled. When they say RAID 1 you are actually getting only one hard drive. I ordered several servers along with 1gbit of bandwidth from alphared a month ago and they couldn't setup the server in one week. Their support team is the worst in the industry and if they screw up your setup it will take them weeks to correct it, that is if they even do correct it. Also, you will be ignored often and lied to by the support team. This is very common as I have spoken to several large bandwidth websites that have used alphared. Do not pay until the servers are setup exactly the way you want them to be or else you will be flushing money down the toilet.

I am not trash talking, I am telling you the truth. The lack of support and slowness of everything drove me insane. My sistuation was worse. I thought that the servers would be up in less than 5 days, however, I ended up canceling my old host to move to alphared and after it passed the 5 day mark I had no media for my servers and alphared still wasn't done setting up my servers, well, two worked and the others were completely setup wrong (missing hardware, such as the raid, and other). It really killed my business for a week and I still suffer from it, however I am recovering. I have also tried to explain to the support team how critical my situation was and they didn't care at all, they just lied to me that they were working on it. I kept my eye on the access logs and they actually logged in and 'did something' 36 hours after I have asked them to. I have switched to choopa.net and they are amazing -- 5 minute average respond time to any ticket and they will have the problem solved too.
I believe AR would be a great place if the support worked harder and smarter. Hell, their sales team works harder than the support, sad.

My apologies for the delayed response here. I've been really busy and haven't looked at this thread in a bit.
To address a few things:
1. TRI, I don't know if I personally worked with you when you were with us, but I'm very sorry your support was not as good as it should have been. We have made some changes to the department, and have brought on better staff also, which has made support MUCH better. I hope that I can earn the opportunity to have you give us a shot again sometime soon; I think you'll be most pleased.
2. ALL of our new Dell servers come with RAID-1 configurations stock, but can be broken and made into RAID-0's. I guarantee that no AR salesperson currently here has ever deliberately misled anyone into buying a server with a RAID config, when there wasn't one.
