The forum is powered by vbulletin which unfortunatley isn't free.

phpBB is a good free alternative.

Any others. Sorry, their demo is working. Do they have email notification and rankings, avators, and titles after a certain number of posts?

Take a look at http://www.invisionboard.com/ , it looks good & they say it installs easier than phpbb.

You can also upgrade from phpbb2 to invisionboard without loosing anything (members/post)......

I'm a vBulletin fan... especially after playing the the beta version 3.

Anyway to go for vB I would recommend making sure you have a reasonable community i.e. you don't want to pay for a forum and find no one uses it!

vbulletin.com - expensive but very user-friendly to change the colors, etc..

phpbb.com - free, easy to install but requires HTML skills to edit the theme files but you could always download themes instead of making your own.

invisionboard.com - free, I like this forum script a lot but like for phpBB it requires some skills and patience to make your own theme.
