    for example the .htaccess file of one of our website contains:

    php_flag register_globals off

    -- or --

    php_value post_max_size 8M

    and when I trying to visit this website show me the 500 Internal Server Error, and when I commented these lines in .htaccess the website work correctly.

    the web site work correctly to before this, after we re-install and re-secure the server I have this problem

    You're most likely getting the error because the webserver is running php with SuPHP or phpSuExec. Therefore php_flag will cause an error. So you would need to put any php controls into a php.ini file

    Ex:
    Code:
    register_globals = Off
    post_max_size = 8M
    Then upload the php.ini file to your home directory (/home/username). Then you can add the following to your .htaccess file in your document root (public_html / htdocs etc):

    Code:
    suPHP_ConfigPath /home/yourusername
    Make sure once you have done this, you remove/comment out the php_flags in your .htaccess file.
